FyrestarTM Technology Platform RedStorm's Fyrestar technology is designed to minimize the guesswork involved in the rational design of protein pharmaceuticals. Because RedStorm's technology provides a proprietary means of circumventing many problems that plague other computational approaches, it provides our clients with unparalleled development capabilities. In total, the Fyrestar technology accurately predicts the properties and behavior of proteins that determine their effectiveness as drug candidates, thus helping our pharmaceutical clients develop compounds with greater chances of surviving the rigors of the drug approval process. In scientific terms, the strength of the Fyrestar technology rests upon an approach that treats proteins as ensembles rather than as static structures (Figure 1). Unlike competitive approaches, the Fyrestar technology uses rigorous approximations that provide an unrivaled combination of speed and accuracy. In fact, several of Fyrestar's methodologies have been featured in leading peer-review publications, including Nature Structural and Molecular Biology and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The Fyrestar technology answers a broad array of pharmaceutically relevant questions and impacts the drug design and development process by facilitating (i) a streamlined therapeutic design process, (ii) the rapid generation of lead compound libraries, and (iii) the optimization of pre-clinical and existing compounds. The technology's capabilities include: Predicting binding affinity in silico , which reduces the need to produce and experimentally study hundreds of mutants for a given protein. Identifying the residues on proteins (both near and far from the active site) that can be targeted in efforts to optimize the functional and physico-chemical properties. Identifying the structural determinants of solution properties, such as solubility, immunogenicity, stability and aggregation, which allows optimization of lead compounds The Fyrestar platform provides a uniquely accurate analysis of protein structure and function when compared to computational methodologies used, or in development, today. Solutions are derived de novo by rational analysis. The fundamental patents (pending) surrounding Fyrestar provide RedStorm with a proprietary position in the use of these ensemble-based thermodynamic methodologies in the drug discovery process.
